TransSIGHT worked to provide a system and network, with a centralized data store. TransSIGHT created a user-friendly, open-data portal offering a daily ridership, average hourly ridership by departure, morning/evening peak, passenger boardings, vessels in service, recent incidents, and chart-making capabilities and load factors by trip. We took the responsibility of gathering functional and system requirements, performing data discovery to identify data types and definitions, architect and ensign system stack utilizing open-source components, develop data models, and set up a AWS infrastructure and deploy system stack. We then ensure the high availability and provide 24/7 support and implement and maintain interfaces, data ingestion engine, and data API.
The primary goals of the WETA Ridership Dashboard project were to:
– Review the accuracy of data entry by Blue & Gold
– Improve the ease and accuracy of report creation by Authority staff
– Facilitate public access to ferry ridership and operations data
Key Features
– A centralized data store for ridership data
